Girl Crush, revised & updated.

The most recent cover of Women’s Health magazine sports a blonde bombshell who rocks an amazing bod. Although the name sounds familiar, I didn’t recognize her face. About half way through the captivating Q&A interview, I started to fall in love.

It turns out my original girl crush Megan Fox [strictly for her looks] is being replaced by a new & improved version, Kristen Bell. Not only does she have beauty, but she is down to earth and hilarious. Apparently Kristen is the voice of Gossip Girl which I have never watched, plays Sarah Marshall that Jason Segal had trouble forgetting, and is the leading lady in a new movie, When In Rome.

Here are some of the snippets that swept me off my feet.

  • I find weird people really interesting. There’s nothing interesting about a normal person.
  • [Commenting on healthing eating] If you’re eyeing the cheesecake, just have a little bit. Work on being satisfied with one bite and not blacking out and having the entire pie — which I’ve fully done before. I don’t believe in depriving yourself, life is too short.
  • [On measuring health] I never step on the scale, because I don’t believe weight is a measure of health. I have too many girlfriends who’ve been curvy and voluptuous and healthy in every possible way to take any of that body bullshit seriously.
  • [Her thoughts on caring whether or not her boyfriend used to date Kate Hudson] I think that girls can get tangled up in who the guy was with before they met you, but I think it’s really important to stay focused on, “I met this man on this day. From what he does from this point on, for however long I know him and am with him, that’s what’s important.”
  • [On why she thinks laughing is so important] It legitimately builds muscle and burns calories. It also releases more serotonin. It’s like affection or touch that lasts longer than seven seconds and produces oxytocin. I hug my friends everytime I leave them because I want more oxytocin.
  • [On loving Madonna’s arms] I think women who are strong are breathtaking.
  • [On being a big fan of sleep] I just think it’s mandatory to have eight hours. There are hormones given to your body after a certain number of hours, and you’re missing that balance if you’re only sleeping four hours a night.
  • [On singing offscreen] I sing out loud to myself in the car a lot. Sometimes I get weird looks but I don’t care. I’m never going to see those jo-jos again!
  • [Her favorite philosophy or phrase] The three requirements for happiness are knowing you’re honest with yourself and to others, knowing you’ve done the best job you could in your personal life and in your work life, and your ability to love others. -Eleanor Roosevelt
  • [When she is happiest] At the bottom of a puppy pile when I get home at night. There is nothing better.
